ALEX ANDRIESSE is the translator of Chateaubriand’s Memoirs from Beyond the Grave (NYRB) and Roberto Bazlen’s Notes Without a Text (Dalkey Archive Press), among other books. He edited The Uncollected Essays of Elizabeth Hardwick (NYBR Classics) and is an associate editor at New York Review Books.
