Sigrid Nunez

Sigrid Nunez has published seven novels including A Feather on the Breath of God, For Rouenna, The Last of Her Kind, and The Friend, which received the 2018 National Book Award for Fiction and was a finalist for the 2019 Simpson/Joyce Carol Oates Prize. Her honors and awards include four Pushcart Prizes, a Whiting Writer’s Award, a Berlin Prize Fellowship, and two awards from the American Academy of Arts and Letters: the Rosenthal Foundation Award and the Rome Prize in Literature. She lives in New York City.

I was excited to help. The response here, officially, was bad. A lot of us knew we needed to react to that somehow. We wanted the victims to know that not everybody here felt like he did. But also, yeah, that’s the word for it, excited.

Cynthia and Steve went for a drive. Toby said, The weather is just great. Marybeth wore the same dress two days in a row.
