Biography
Robin Hemley is the author of twelve books of fiction and nonfiction and has won a number of awards, including a Guggenheim Fellowship and three Pushcart Prizes. He is the founder of NonfictioNOW; professor emeritus at the University of Iowa’s Nonfiction Writing Program, where he served as director for nine years; and is a distinguished visiting professor at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia.

In school, the brief schooling I attended, the benefits of water were endlessly extolled. (Eckhart Tolle, mindfulness, a tripart time, a mermaid time, a time that just was not going to work for the mountains.)

The great Gothic cathedrals, with their arches, ribs, and vaults, were modeled after trees in the forest, the way trees reach up and their branches intertwine.
